“Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.”
Mission: Create learning environments for students that capture their interests, take advantage of their energy, and help them develop the skills and knowledge they need to be successful. It does not matter if the students are 10 or 80 years old or somewhere in between.
Hallmarks of my workshops:
- High energy
- Student-tested strategies applicable across the curriculum
- Active involvement of my audience
“One of Jill’s strengths is the use of active learning strategies in her workshops. She models the activity and then the participants engage in the activity. “I can take this back and use it with my students tomorrow” is a comment many of the participants made.” Kathy McAvoy Secondary Literacy Coach, Newport News Public Schools, Newport News, VA
“Unlike several other seminars I have attended, Jill ‘practices what she preaches.’ Instead of lecturing, she uses participatory activities that keep audience engaged. I will use several of her ideas in my classroom, soon.” R. Verrett, Educator
“Thanks for the great ideas. I’m a team leader/classroom teacher. I will use several activities when I facilitate our staff meetings.” Attendee at NASSP Annual conference.
